On June 15 and 16, 2026, Isep was delighted to host a new edition of VivaIssy, the annual innovation event organized by the City of Issy-les-Moulineaux. Over the course of two days, the campus was transformed into a vibrant hub for discussion and exchange, bringing together students, researchers, experts, companies, public-sector representatives, and citizens to explore the major technological challenges of tomorrow.
Two Days Dedicated to the Major Challenges of Digital Technology at Isep
Conferences, demonstrations, and networking opportunities gave participants the chance to discover the latest advances in research and discuss the uses of digital technology, with a shared ambition: to develop innovative, responsible technologies that serve people.
An Exceptional Lecture by Professor Alain Aspect, 2022 Nobel Prize Laureate in Physics
Among the highlights of this year’s event, Isep had the honor of welcoming Professor Alain Aspect, Nobel Prize laureate in Physics, for an exceptional lecture entitled:
“From Concepts to Applications: The Two Quantum Revolutions”
In front of an audience of more than 300 participants, he shared his insights into the discoveries that have revolutionized our understanding of quantum physics and paved the way for numerous applications in fields such as quantum computing, secure communications, and cybersecurity.
Following his presentation, attendees had the opportunity to continue the discussion during a book-signing session held as part of the Garden Party, which celebrated both the 30th anniversary of apprenticeship programs at Isep and the 30th anniversary of the City of Issy-les-Moulineaux’s website.
A memorable presentation that highlighted the essential connection between fundamental research and technological innovation.
Smart City: When Research Addresses Urban Challenges
Another highlight of VivaIssy was the conference given by Professor Xun ZHANG, an Isep professor and researcher, focusing on technologies designed to support smart cities.
During the conference, he presented two flagship projects:
- LumiSense, a smart lighting system developed in collaboration with Tsinghua University;
- the “Smart City” educational module, designed with the City of Issy-les-Moulineaux to raise future engineers’ awareness of the challenges facing tomorrow’s cities.
These initiatives demonstrate how research, innovation, and education can work together to develop concrete solutions that meet the needs of local communities.
Isep would like to warmly thank all the speakers, partners, students, alumni, visitors, and teams who contributed throughout these two days.
We would also like to thank the City of Issy-les-Moulineaux for its continued trust and commitment to innovation. We are proud to contribute each year to this event, which fosters dialogue between academia, businesses, institutions, and citizens around the major challenges of digital technology.
