Nour EL MADHOUN

Teacher-Researcher, PhD

I am currently a faculty member in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Blockchain, and Head of the Cybersecurity Engineering Program (formerly Digital Security and Networks – SNR) at Isep, a position I have held since May 2022. I am also an Associate Researcher at Sorbonne University/LIP6, where I was part of the PHARE team from 2020 to 2022 and have been a member of the NPA team since November 2022. Additionally, I am affiliated as an Associate Researcher with Paris-Saclay University/LISN, within the ROCS team.

I obtained my Master’s degree in Networks/Computer Science from Sorbonne University/Télécom ParisTech in 2014, followed by a PhD in Cybersecurity/Computer Science from Sorbonne University in 2018. In 2017, I served as a Temporary Teaching and Research Associate (ATER) at Sorbonne University, teaching Computer Science, Networks, and Cybersecurity courses while continuing my research. In 2018, I gained industry experience as a postdoctoral researcher at Orange Labs, working on Blockchain technologies and smart contracts.

My current research focuses on network security, cryptographic protocols, EMV payment systems, NFC technology, Blockchain and smart contract technologies, as well as the use of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) for cybersecurity.

I have co-edited the following four Springer books: Emerging Trends in Cybersecurity Applications (with Kevin Daimi, Abeer Alsadoon, Cathryn Peoples), Principles and Practice of Blockchains (with Kevin Daimi, Ioanna Dionysiou), Building Cybersecurity Applications with Blockchain and Smart Contracts (with Ioanna Dionysiou, Emmanuel Bertin), and Blockchain and Smart Contract Technologies for Innovative Applications (with Ioanna Dionysiou, Emmanuel Bertin).
