Maria TROCAN

Professor, PhD, Accredited to Supervise Research

Maria Trocan received her Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Politehnica University of Bucharest in 2004, and her PhD in Signal and Image Processing from Télécom ParisTech in 2007. In 2014, she obtained her Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR) from Pierre and Marie Curie University (Sorbonne University).

In May 2009, she joined Isep, where she served as Head of the Signal Processing program from 2011 to 2018, and later as Head of the Data Science program from March 2018 to January 2023.

She was Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Open Journal on Circuits and Systems (2018–2021) and is currently an Associate Editor for Signal, Image and Video Processing (Springer). In 2014, she was elected Vice-Chair of IEEE France in charge of student activities and became a member of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Board of Governors. She was re-elected Vice-Chair of IEEE France for student activities in 2017, Chair of Technical Activities and Membership Development in 2020, and Vice-Chair of the IEEE France Section in 2023.
