
Xun ZHANG
Teacher-Researcher, PhD - Accredited to Supervise Research
Dr. Xun Zhang is an Associate Professor at Isep. He obtained his PhD in Instrumentation Science and Microelectronics from the University of Nancy in October 2009. Between 2009 and 2011, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the SCEE laboratory of CentraleSupélec. In 2011, he joined Isep as an Associate Professor.
His current research focuses on:
- Physical layer optimization for 5G cellular networks and VLC systems
- High-precision indoor positioning and tracking algorithms based on VLC
- Self-reconfigurable management methods and control strategies on FPGA for cognitive radio systems
He has participated in several international projects (Horizon H2020 IoRL, Franco-Chinese project, Orange Foundation – RoBo). His team has notably developed:
- A high-speed PLC-VLC demonstration
- An indoor triangulation platform based on VLC
- A software-defined radio (USRP) platform for visible light communication
His team also maintains numerous international collaborations with partner universities: Brunel University (UK), Tsinghua University (China), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). In France, he works closely with CEA-Leti and Oledcomm, leaders in the VLC market.
