Analysis of visual field tests
The CIC unit of the Quinze-Vingt hospital (Paris) carries out research about retinal diseases. Visual field tests are used to determine whether the visual field is affected by diseases that cause local scotomas or a more extensive loss of vision or a reduction in sensitivity. An important database of visual field tests, made with patients affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), is available at the CIC. This "paper" database has been scanned to provide numerical images (Figure 1).

The purpose of this project is to detect automatically the curves drawn manually by the ophthalmologists (in red or black in Figure 1). The extracted information will be then used by the doctors to model the RP evolution. This study is part of a global project whose ultimate purpose is to find and experiment new medicine in order to treat the RP.
